Mobile Phone Detection Cameras: 30 second read

From 19th of September, Mobile Phone detection cameras will detect illegal phone use while driving and allocate fines. Drivers caught illegally using their phones will be issued an expiation notice for $540.00 plus a $99.00 victims of crime levy and three demerit points. Signage has now been installed to alert drivers passing a detection camera. Currently, there are five mobile phone detection sites: South Road, Torrensville; North South Motorway, Regency Park; Port Wakefield Road, Gepps Cross; Southern Expressway, Darlington and Port Road Hindmarsh.
