Drivers Licence in Adelaide
Drivers Licence Overview
Unfortunately, statistics show that new drivers, particularly those aged 16 to 20 years, are up to three times more likely to be involved in a serious road crash. While road crashes account for a quarter of all deaths of people aged 15-25 in developed nations.
In 2014 road accidents could be attributed to 45% of all deaths of young people aged 17-25, young drivers represent one-quarter of all Australian road deaths, while only making up 10-15% of the licensed population. The largest cause of fatal crashes in young drivers is speeding, with 80% of fatalities being young males.
Research has also found that strengthening the driving experience and supervision of new drivers through graduated licensing schemes can lead to significant reductions in crashes both before and after obtaining a driver’s licence.
